Planning for a Third Baby with ICSI Treatment

I’ve always planned to have three children, but as time passed, I started to worry that my age might affect my chances of getting pregnant. After trying for a while with no success, I decided to seek medical advice to ensure the best possible health for my baby.

After researching online and asking friends for recommendations, I was advised to consult Dr. Ton Phunsak. As soon as I met him, I knew I was in good hands. He suggested a full body check-up before proceeding with any treatment, ensuring that the treatment would be tailored specifically to my condition. During every visit, Dr. Ton took the time to explain every step of the fertility process thoroughly, from start to finish, making sure I understood everything.

Since I was getting older and had already had two children, Dr. Ton was concerned about the potential changes in my hormones. After the tests were completed for both my husband and me, Dr. Ton developed a plan to help me get pregnant as soon as possible using ICSI (In Vitro Fertilization), which currently has the highest success rate. He also recommended additional chromosome testing to screen for any genetic conditions that might affect the pregnancy.

With Dr. Ton’s care and expertise, I felt confident and hopeful about expanding our family.

Patient Treated with ICSI (In Vitro Fertilization) with Additional Special Techniques

ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection)
This technique involves using a special microscope and needle to inject a single sperm directly into the egg. It helps improve the chances of success, particularly in cases of male infertility or when traditional IVF methods may not be effective.

NGS (Next-Generation Sequencing)
NGS is used to screen for chromosomal abnormalities in embryos. By identifying any genetic issues, NGS ensures that only the healthiest embryos are selected for implantation, which increases the chances of a successful and healthy pregnancy.

These advanced techniques, combined with expert care, offer the best possible outcomes for patients undergoing IVF treatment.

Body Mass Index calculator

Being overweight or underweight can reduce fertility, so it is important to keep your body weight within the normal healthy range.

Body Mass Index (BMI) is an indication of your body weight and can be calculated by dividing weight by height. You should aim for a BMI of between 20 and 25, as this will optimise your chances of conception.

Woman’s BMI below 19

Even in these modern times, nature knows best. If a woman's BMI falls below 19, the body senses famine and ovulation is switched off to prevent the risk of having a baby with malnutrition. Excessive exercise can reduce body fat and increase muscle mass to a point where periods cease for the same reason. Risk of miscarriage is also increased in women with a low BMI.

Being underweight

If a woman's BMI falls below 19, the body senses famine and ovulation is switched off to prevent the risk of having a baby with malnutrition. Excessive exercise can reduce body fat and increase muscle mass to a point where periods cease for the same reason. Risk of miscarriage is also increased in women with a low BMI.

BMI’s greater than 30

This can reduce fertility by 50%. Pregnancy for women with a 30+ BMI is often associated with problems such as maternal diabetes, high blood pressure, big babies and increased risk of caesarean section.
