Mrs. Pastraporn had always planned to have three children. However, when trying for her third, months passed with no sign of pregnancy, making her suspect that something was wrong. She decided to consult Dr. Kitti at Beyond IVF and discovered that her ovarian reserve was low and her menstrual cycle was irregular. To achieve the best possible outcome, she opted for ICSI (Intra-Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection), or IVF.

Many women who have previously conceived naturally assume they will never face infertility. However, as a woman’s body ages, changes inevitably occur—especially with egg cells, which are present from birth and rapidly diminish due to age and genetics. If you have been trying naturally for over a year without success, it is essential to consult a specialist to identify potential issues.

Dr. Kitti carefully designed Mrs. Pastraporn’s treatment plan using his expertise, beginning with hormone analysis, selecting the appropriate medications and dosage, and meticulously planning the injection schedule. As a result, her treatment led to the creation of eight high-quality blastocyst-stage embryos—far beyond her expectations.

Her endometrial lining was then prepared and monitored closely until it was optimal for implantation. One chromosomally normal embryo was transferred, and the pregnancy was a success! This marks yet another achievement for Dr. Kitti at Beyond IVF.

The patient underwent fertility treatment using the ICSI (Intra-Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection) method.

Special Techniques Applied:

  • ICSI – A specialized technique using a high-resolution microscope to directly inject a single sperm into the egg, increasing the success rate.

  • NGS (Next-Generation Sequencing) – A genetic screening process to detect chromosomal abnormalities in embryos before implantation.

Body Mass Index calculator

Being overweight or underweight can reduce fertility, so it is important to keep your body weight within the normal healthy range.

Body Mass Index (BMI) is an indication of your body weight and can be calculated by dividing weight by height. You should aim for a BMI of between 20 and 25, as this will optimise your chances of conception.

Woman’s BMI below 19

Even in these modern times, nature knows best. If a woman's BMI falls below 19, the body senses famine and ovulation is switched off to prevent the risk of having a baby with malnutrition. Excessive exercise can reduce body fat and increase muscle mass to a point where periods cease for the same reason. Risk of miscarriage is also increased in women with a low BMI.

Being underweight

If a woman's BMI falls below 19, the body senses famine and ovulation is switched off to prevent the risk of having a baby with malnutrition. Excessive exercise can reduce body fat and increase muscle mass to a point where periods cease for the same reason. Risk of miscarriage is also increased in women with a low BMI.

BMI’s greater than 30

This can reduce fertility by 50%. Pregnancy for women with a 30+ BMI is often associated with problems such as maternal diabetes, high blood pressure, big babies and increased risk of caesarean section.
