A 36-year-old mother successfully became pregnant on her first IUI attempt with Dr. Kitti at Beyond IVF.

In the relationships of many couples, having a child is a hope and dream for the family. This is also true for Khun Tipyarat, who has been trying to conceive naturally for over 4 years. When things didn’t go as hoped, she and her husband decided to seek medical help and technology to increase their chances of having a little one. They scheduled a consultation with Dr. Kitti at Beyond IVF.

After discussing with her husband and seeing information on Facebook about Beyond IVF, they came across reviews of Dr. Kitti’s cases and reached out to the admin for information, including initial treatment details, before making an appointment to meet with the doctor for a treatment plan.

On the appointment day, the patient underwent a thorough health examination, including blood tests and ultrasounds to assess ovarian health. The husband had his sperm quality checked, with Dr. Kitti and the nurses providing close care and guidance. Dr. Kitti detailed the treatment processes for both IUI and ICSI and addressed all the patient’s concerns, helping her feel more confident.

After reviewing the health results, Dr. Kitti assessed that the identified issues were not very concerning, and due to the patient’s relatively young age, both treatment methods could be considered. The doctor planned a treatment strategy to assist the couple in making a decision between the two options. The patient opted to try IUI first, planning to proceed with ICSI if this attempt was unsuccessful.

After the consultation and receiving comprehensive information, the patient wasted no time and started the IUI process right away. When her next menstrual cycle arrived, she began egg stimulation immediately, continuing for about 5 days, followed by regular check-ups. Once healthy eggs were obtained, Dr. Kitti scheduled a day for sperm injection. The husband prepared to provide a sperm sample, and the scientists then isolated the best quality sperm, which the doctor injected into the woman’s uterus. After resting at the clinic for a while, she was able to go home, with no need for bed rest, and could continue her daily life as usual.

After the sperm injection, 14 days later, the patient was incredibly anxious. When she tested her urine and saw two lines, she was still unsure. Dr. Kitti then advised her to have a blood test to confirm the pregnancy hormone levels. The HCG hormone levels were very high, and Dr. Kitti wasted no time scheduling an ultrasound appointment right away, where they found a gestational sac! This confirmed that she was definitely pregnant.

For anyone facing infertility issues, don’t wait any longer! Dr. Kitti is very kind and offers free consultations. You can schedule an appointment via Line at @Beyondivf.

The patient underwent treatment using the intrauterine insemination (IUI) method.

Body Mass Index calculator

Being overweight or underweight can reduce fertility, so it is important to keep your body weight within the normal healthy range.

Body Mass Index (BMI) is an indication of your body weight and can be calculated by dividing weight by height. You should aim for a BMI of between 20 and 25, as this will optimise your chances of conception.

Woman’s BMI below 19

Even in these modern times, nature knows best. If a woman's BMI falls below 19, the body senses famine and ovulation is switched off to prevent the risk of having a baby with malnutrition. Excessive exercise can reduce body fat and increase muscle mass to a point where periods cease for the same reason. Risk of miscarriage is also increased in women with a low BMI.

Being underweight

If a woman's BMI falls below 19, the body senses famine and ovulation is switched off to prevent the risk of having a baby with malnutrition. Excessive exercise can reduce body fat and increase muscle mass to a point where periods cease for the same reason. Risk of miscarriage is also increased in women with a low BMI.

BMI’s greater than 30

This can reduce fertility by 50%. Pregnancy for women with a 30+ BMI is often associated with problems such as maternal diabetes, high blood pressure, big babies and increased risk of caesarean section.
